We quickly settled on a movie review blog and it is up and going strong. These are fun, quick reviews of the films I watch - usually one a day, sometimes more. So please check it out and let me know what you think. Feel free to leave comments - you know I love to get a cool dialogue going. http://flickday.blogspot.com

First Day of Production

As you can see, I’m WIPED! First let me say - day 1 of production was sick! Started with an early morning run on the beach where I quickly found a giant beached sea turtle only feet from the resort. I realized how incredible it would look in the film and worked out a short scene. We got the footage and it looks great for such an impromptu shoot. I LOVE these moments. Seriously - just finding something like that, working it in - it’s MAGIC. That is the magic of cinema creation. Organic flow - going with what comes your way.

I also took a quick peek at a cool location I found yesterday and had 2 thoughts. 1 - how do I work it into The Final Phase of Countless Days. 2 - can I possibly make a short film in this location while I’m here? I think 2 is unlikely, but if you know me - you know I’ll try my darndest to figure out how I can fit it in/and that I’ve already worked out the story we’d be telling. But 1 - well - I think I have no choice but to make it work. Just like the sea turtle, it’s magic when something like this comes up. It would be criminal not to take advantage of it.

The sun is now down. Food is in my belly. Everyone has decided to watch the Hangover. God willing, I will not have one tomorrow.

I’ve just been really, really, really, really, really, super, incredibly busy. But guess what? It paid off. Yep, the Kringle revision is DONE! And 49 pages lighter. Don’t ask me how I managed to slice out 49 pages of a 403 page book. Quick - how many pages is my book now??? But slice I did and it reads so much better. A big thank ya, thank ya to Senor Mark McVeigh for his superb guidance. Couldn’t have done it without ya, Agent Rock N’ Rolla!

Cheers,

Jason

You can check ‘em out by clicking on the link on the films page. That will take you to my production company website, Idea Generation Films, and the vids are posted on the news page. Next week may very well see the completion of that swanky journey.

2nd: Film, film, film. Friday saw the 2nd draft of my new scifi feature film, The Final Phase of Countless Days, wrap up and get passed along to my producer. He is presently reading it and finding new ways to torture me, writing what I can only assume is a fine, acid-drenched list of notes that will thrill, shock, and devastate my soul.

3rd: Turns out I’m gonna be starring in The Final Phase of Countless Days. As writer, director, and producer, I didn’t make this decision based on my finely-tuned acting chops. No, I was just getting back at my co-producer. You know, the one that sends me acid-drenched notes.

4th: After many sleepless nights weighing the pros and Decepticons, I have decided to incorporate a tremendous amount of special effects into Final Phase - CGI up the patootie! I didn’t make this decision based on any knowledge of how to actually incorporate copious amounts of CGI into a film. No, I was just getting back at my co-producer. You know, the one that sends me acid-drenched notes.

Cheers,

Jason
